It would seem that our articles always seem to
come in pairs. After announcing the casting updates for a Batman film after
Batman Begins,
we have heard that New Line Cinema has finally decided to move forward with
the film Shoot-Em-Up and have selected none other than Clive Owen
for the lead role.
Shoot Em Up
I guess Sin
City was not violent enough for Clive Owen, who has recently
joined the crew of this ultraviolent film that will feature a shootout during
a graphic sex scene and other shootouts in arenas such as freefalling. According
to Variety, New Line has been sitting
on the script for Shoot-Em-Up for over a year and has now finally
decided to kick pre-production in full gear with the goal of having a full
cast picked by this September.
Shoot-Em-Up
will be an ultraviolent film about a mysterious man who attempts to protect
a baby from criminals out to kill it. According to the writer of the Shoot-Em-Up
script, "[Shoot-Em-Up] is literally all the cool things you
can do with a shootout." Wasn't this already accomplished by Face
Off?
Shoot-Em-Up is looking at a 2006 Release.
