Ralph Fiennes will play as Lord Voldemort in Goblet of Fire
I have finally finished the double-issue of Entertainment
Weekly while I sat and waited for a tune-up and a haircut.
As most have already heard, the latest EW release has some pretty cool stuff
as it goes down a list of the top 100+ top personalities for 2005 and gets
each of them to say a few words about current projects. One of the top dogs,
ranked at thirteen, was Ralph Fiennes who, as some may know, will play the
villainous [*not villainess, thanks Rachel] role of Lord Voldemort *cough* sorry, he - who - should - not
- be - named, in the upcoming Potter film Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Fiennes Talk on Goblet of Fire
Just in case you didn't know, Lord Voldemort does
return [in present age] for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
However, for pretty much the entire film Voldemort will be weak and hideous,
which makes me wonder how they are going to play down Ralph Fiennes' features.
When asked about playing the top movie villain,
Voldemort, by EW, Ralph Fiennes had this to say:
My inclination was to underplay it [the part
of Voldemort], but you can't underplay Voldemort. He is evil. What I wanted
was a you-never-know-what-he'll-do-next quality. My nephews and nieces visited
the set- they were quite taken aback. Probably because I was bald.
