Tom Cruise, wiping face after the blast of water from mic strikes
While this update has nothing directly to do with
War of the Worlds,
it is still pretty humorous and finds its place at the London premiere of
War of the Worlds; and it does include Tom Cruise.
Cruise Gets Squirted
Not that this should have been any big deal, but
it seems that Cruise has been under extra pressure with the upcoming release
of War of the Worlds and his expanded relationship with Katie Holmes
[they are now engaged]; meaning that now is not the time to f*@k with him.
At the London premiere for the film, Cruise walked up for an interview with
one of the reporters when the microphone offered to him squirted him in
the face with a little bit of water.
Considering that the mic was considered a 'joke mic', most would have had
a quick laugh and found this to be at least a person attempting to be humorous.
Not that this is any consolation [*not constellation, thanks Emily], but sometimes you English people let
your sense of humor get the better of you [have tons of fam in England and
Scotland]. While the reporter had expected a laugh from Cruise, he instead
received something like 'JERK!'
Yes, Tom Cruise was not pleased with the stunt
and it resulted in a couple of arrests and an apology from the news station
responsible for the camera crew.
Other than that, early buzz from screenings is
claiming that War of the Worlds is amazing, so expect early reviews
coming in as early as tomorrow.
