As I have said on repeated occasions, I am not
all that big of fan of horror flicks. The genre gets away with being extraordinarily
cheesy and typically follows clichés like no other. However, with
the hype that is around George
A. Romero's Land of the Dead, it is hard not to take a
look or two.
Land of the Dead Reviews
The good people over at AICN
have seen Land of the Dead repeatedly, and it seems that each writer
had something positive to say about the film. Actually, some of the reviews
posted for Land of the Dead are nothing short of ecstatic. Here
are a couple snippets from the reviews below:
First Review
I can not wait to see this again. I’m so pleased. The gore had me flinching. The scares had me leaping And some of the imagery even made feel for the zombies, the people and the whole world we were looking at.
Vern's Review
There are so many memorable zombies that it would be hard to pick a favorite, but one candidate is the real skinny lady near the beginning, probaly a puppet, possibly a half cousin or niece of Gollum. Another obvious choice, I don't know what they call him in the credits, but there's a zombie leader.
Quint's Review
All in all, LAND OF THE DEAD is a worthy addition to the series. I need to watch it a few more times to see where it ranks with the original three, which I've seen probably a couple dozen times each.
