If you have almost an hour to spare and want to
hear about every film that has something to do with Avi Arad, the head honcho
for Marvel, then you are in luck. The good people over at IESB were able
to get Avi Arad to agree to a forty-minute interview discussing Marvel movies.
He wears the Fantastic
Four hat, but has he read the early reviews?
Avi Arad Speaks... Some More
Avi Arad has actually been doing a lot of interview
and discussions lately, with this latest one with IESB as the icing on the
cake. Fantastic Four is about to come out and X-Men
3 is about to begin filming, therefore this guy's time
is quickly becoming a precious commodity. To better sum up the forty-minute
interview with Avi Arad, check out this snippet from IESB
below:
Then I thought about it, how dificult is it going to be to talk to the President of Marvel one week prior to the release of Fan Four and about 30 days before shooting X-Men 3? I wasn't going to hold my breath. I thought that with any luck I might run into him at the premiere of Fantastic Four in New York or maybe a phone interview. But nonetheless I still made a few phone calls and requested a 10 minute interview. To my surprise I got a response from Marvel and they were kind enough to schedule a 40 minute video interview at the L.A. Marvel office.
The L.A. office of Marvel is exactly what I expected, geek heaven. Spiderman, Hulk, The X-Men and all things Marvel are on display including some jazzy Ghost Rider set pictures and miniatures that I can't say a damn thing about it except that it was amazingly cool stuff.
One of my favorite parts of the Avi Arad interview
is when they ask him about his thoughts on the early script reviews for
X-Men 3, reviews that were supposedly taken from an old draft of
the script. IESB just wanted Avi Arad to confirm that the script was old,
but he instead just says that the X-Men 3 script is the best yet.
Is it this same script? Let's hope not.
