Chow Yun-Fat is a pirate.
A while back we had posted that Chow Yun-Fat [Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon] was up in the running for a role in the upcoming
Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. Today it has been confirmed that
Yun-Fat will definitely play a role in Pirates of the Caribbean 3,
but what about Dead
Man's Chest?
Chow Yun-Fat is a Pirate
According to the latest from Variety, Chow Yun-Fat
has confirmed that he will play the role of a pirate captain that goes by
the name of Captain Sao Feng. I don't know if I am going out on a limb here,
but I think Yun-Fat's pirate character will have some sort of Asian decent
[hmm?] and most likely offer some Asian elements into Pirates of the
Caribbean 3.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the
Caribbean 3 are filming back - to - back, and the early rumors said
we could expect to see Chow Yun-Fat in both films. However, the latest confirmation
only verifies that we can expect to see Yun-Fat in Pirates 3. Maybe
he makes a quick cameo by the end of Dead Man's Chest and has his
full appearance kick in for the 'final' Pirates film.
An another note-- Keith Richards has decided that he will make time to play
the role of Jack Sparow's father in the Pirates of the Caribbean
sequels [reported on previously].
