This could be some of the best news I've heard
all day. A while back we posted an extremely early review of The
Island that said it was only mediocre and probably not
worth a theatre visit. Considering that the clips look so good, Ewan McGregor
is rad, and Scarlett Johanssen is hot, this was just the news most didn't
want to hear. Well, put those fears aside as a boatload of early reviews
have struck online and all are gushing positives on the film.
The Island Reviews
Last Saturday Dreamworks allowed a nationwide sneak
peak of the upcoming Michael Bay thriller The Island. A sneak peak
is usually a good sign for a film, as the studio risks early negative buzz
that could later kill a film in the box office. So, if a studio agrees to
do an early screening, they usually know they have something that will create
the positive hype that any film needs. In the case of The Island,
this marketing approach couldn't have worked more perfectly. Every early
review I have read from the screening are POSITIVE; sometimes EXTREMELY.

JOBLO
"The Island" was one of the most inventive, actionous, creative, entertaining, captivating movies that I've seen in a while. Its most likely going to draw comparisons to "Minority Report", and on a shallow basis, it is similar.
But "The Island" is one of those movies that astounds you as you watch. Its vision of the not-too-distant future is cool and high-tech without being a little too CG like in "Minority Report". It is realistic, detailed, and truly amazing.

Boy, all i can say about The Island is....... finally!
I think Bay finally hit this one out of the park! I wonder if its a coincidence that this is the first non-Bruckenheimer of Bay's because this one is his best......BY FAR!!!! It's good to see a movie this summer that's not a remake or a sequel.
