Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Holy crap! Just when I thought the early reviews
for The Island
were something to rave about, I was alerted that not one but two early movie
reviews for none other than Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire have been posted online.
And, to go even one step better, both reviews are gushing on the un-finished
film.
Goblet of Fire Reviews
It seems that Warner Bros did a secret screening
this last week that invited casual moviegoers through flyer to a free 'family
film' in which they can voluntarily go see. If you were one of those moviegoers
who received the flyer and didn't go, start kicking your own ass. Upon arrival
to the 'family film', the volunteers were submitted to a metal detector
and full searches, leaving all asking-- 'What kind of family film is this?'
With the appearance of Mike Newell, most quickly discovered the truth. Warner
Bros decided to do an early test screening of Harry Potter and the Goblet
of Fire a week before the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince.
Was the early test screening a marketing ploy to renew the Harry Potter
hype right before the release of the upcoming novel? Probably not. Considering
that pre-orders for Harry Potter and the HBP are already rocking
Amazon, it would look like this is your standard test screening. However,
it can only help that both reviews posted for the test screenings are ridiculously
positive. [warning: review at Mugglenet is SPOILERIFIC]

Now about the movie: First of all guys, this movie is freakin' EXCELLENT!
We were told prior to the movie that a lot of the effects weren't finished
and some portions may be too dark. But, from what I could tell, it was pretty
much the full movie..
First off, the best action scenes deal with his tasks during the tournament.
The entrances of the two competing schools are clever and done very well.
There's an awesome scene where Harry has to deal with a dragon that had
me on the edge of my seat. I won't spoil it, but just think of a Jurassic
Park version of Quidditch..

OPINION and OVERALL WOW! This movie is by far the greatest movie we've had yet! I have a lot of love for the third, because Sirius and Lupin are my favorite characters, but I can't deny the absolute fabulousness of this one. The hormones are running even higher and this installment- even higher than they were in the book. I hate to say it, but even though they kept in all of the great Ron/Hermione issues (i.e. Krum), there's a lot of Harry/Hermione going on. Fred, George, and Neville all play MUCH LARGER parts. The romance throughout is just terrific. I also really loved the way Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe acted during their fight over Harry's being in the Tournament.
The above review from MuggleNet is filled with the entire go at the film,
with certain film elements added in as well; so definitely tread with caution
if you decide to check that one out in it full entirety.
I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for
a second time and have to say that I love the book and consider it probably
the best of the series so far. Don't get me wrong, Order of the Phoenix
is great, but it just pisses me off too much when I read it [those who have
read it should know exactly what I mean].
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comes to theatres this November
18th.
