The real Domino Harvey
After the death of Domino Harvey in late June New
Line Cinema announced that they had moved the release date for Domino
forward to August 19th. We posted
the question of whether New Line was trying to pick up on some of the added
hype thanks to the death of the person that the film is loosely based on.
But we weren't complaining, this move would have allowed us to watch Domino
three months earlier than expected.
It turns out that this new release date didn't last long, with the new release pushed a compromising way back
to October 14th.
Domino Release
In the latest report from New Line sent into Joblo,
they have now pushed the release of Domino back for two reasons;
even though I think only one is true. The first reason for the change of
release is to respect and honor the death of Domino Harvey. Uhh, this would
mean that they didn't push the film forward to try to capitalize on said
death. The second reason Domino was pushed was that Tony Scott
balked at the new release date for August and explained to New Line that
he needed more time to finish the film.
The 'finalized' release date for Domino is now October 14th. While
this may be a downer do to the longer wait, it is nice to know that there
is a full trailer for the film being worked on as we speak.
Domino should come to theatres on October 14th, but stay tuned
to be safe.

Stay tuned for updates.
