Transformers Transformers updates
When Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci announced that they were going to be working on Mission: Impossible 3, a project that has finally started to make some ground, some moviegoers were put into a state of shock. These are the exact same two writers that are supposed to be working on the Michael Bay / Steven Spielberg film Transformers. Within the day reports started to come in stating that Transformers was pushed so far on the backburner that it may become delayed to the point of Watchmen.

At this point, any news on Transformers is good news, as long as it states some type of schedule or date; which we now have.

Transformers Release Date

Dreamworks has announced that the release date for Transformers will now be July 4, 2007 instead of some time late 2006 as earlier predicted. While this news isn't necessarily great, it is nice to know that the film still has a release date; even with all the delays it had and will probably further encounter. Dreamworks also plans to have an official movie website up and running shortly, instead of the site it uses now that talks about everything Transformers except the movie.

When asked why they decided to move the release date back to July 4th, Dreamworks responded by stating, ' Under the direction of Michael Bay, and with Steven Spielberg executive producing, we know that 'Transformers' is going to be the kind of explosive action movie that is perfect for the height of the summer movie season. By staking our claim on the 4th of July, 2007, we ensure that we not only have the time to make this movie the way it should be made, but also to build excitement and awareness leading up to its release.'

Michael Bay should have a good following into Transformers considering his latest film, The Island, is rumored to be his best film yet. Michael Bay has a filmography that includes action-packed films such as Bad Boys II, Armageddon, The Rock, and Pearl Harbor. Hype recently exploded around Transformers when Steven Spielberg announced that he would sit in as Executive Producer for the film.
