Just a brief update for all of those who can't
wait for 2006 due to the little Bryan Singer film titled Superman
Returns. BlueTights.Net has just released the latest production
diary for the film, which features Singer discussing his favorite cinematographer,
Newton Thomas Sigel.
Superman Returns- Through Newton's Eyes
The 19th production diary to get posted online
for Superman Returns is titled 'Through the Eyes of Newton Thomas
Sigel'. If you have never heard of this gentleman, he is the cinematographer
that has stuck by Bryan Singer since the days of The Usual Suspects.
And, before you ask, Newton was responsible for the cinematography for X-Men
and X2. It looks like Singer follows the Hollywood rule that states
'keep your friends close, keep good talent closer.'
In this latest clip from Singer and crew, Bryan Singer and Newton Sigel
discuss how they shot the first test shots on film, and then decided to
move to completely digital later. Therefore, you cannot say that any of
the film was 'shot to video' but instead 'captured to digital.' Both Singer
and Sigel are proud to claim that they are the first to have the new series
of digital recording equipment.
To top it off, the latest clip shows a nice little
scene from Superman Returns right at the end. If you check out
the image above, you can see the news report stating that Superman has in
fact returned.
