Sigh. Every day I am wishing more and more that
I was able to somehow figure out a way to get my ass down to San Diego to
check out this years Comic-Con convention. But Noooo, I got to work on other
projects instead. Well, I have just caught two new San Diego Comic-Con reports
that make me even more jealous of all those able to attend. Not only were
guests allowed to preview a trailer featurette for the graphic novel adaptation
V for Vendetta,
but they also showed a new trailer for Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire too.
Vendetta and Potter Storm Comic-Con
While I had expected Warner Bros to do a nice booth
for V for Vendetta and show off some new material from Harry Potter
and the Goblet of Fire, I would have never guessed that they would be showing
off two new trailer featurettes [one for each film]. Each trailer is not
exactly a trailer, but more a featurette that gives a glimpse at each films
trailer plus some added footage exclusive to Comic-Con.
ComingSoon.Net has offered some of the best reports from Comic-Con, which
now include little details from the new trailers:
Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The Comic-Con exclusive trailer opens with a nightshot of Hogwarts and talk of the pending tournament where other schools will be invited to participate. Clips shown included unfinished CGI on a carriage-like vehicle and some creatures and also offered the first shots of the new teacher for dark arts, Mad Eye Moody.
V
for Vendetta
A voice on the trailer asks captive, battered Portman if she understands the information they are after. She answers "Yes." Then the voice asks, "Are you ready to tell us the identity of V?" She answers, "No."
Can we expect to see these trailers posted to the
net soon? Don't count on it, as each report says that the clips shown were
still unfinished. While this is OK for viewers who already know this fact,
unfinished clips could be disastrous if posted on the internet.
