Kate Hudson in The Skeleton Key
To be honest, I am not all that into horror film.
This genre seems to get away with a lot of shit, such as cheesy stories,
poor special effects, and bad acting. However, during the last few years
we have been greeted with the next generation of horror films that actually
offer up great cinematography, story, and acting. One such film that looks
to be following this trend is the Universal Pictures thriller The
Skeleton Key starring Kate Hudson. The trailer for the
film looks good and now there is a new featurette online that even made
me give a second glance over my shoulder.
The Skeleton Key Clip
The latest featurette for The Skeleton Key
reminds me a lot of what Universal Pictures tried to do with White Noise.
They first point out that the film is going to be very intense and scary,
and then they push the fear home by stating that the scary elements to the
film are actual real occurrences down in places such as Louisiana. People
do cover their mirrors, people do allow themselves to become possessed,
and people do listen to creepy as records like the one heard in the trailer.
The featurette also throws in a few random interviews plus clips from the
actual film. Kate Hudson looks good, but not the charmer we saw in Almost
Famous; but that could be due to the fact that she has the I - am -
so - bugged - out look on her face through out the running of The Skeleton
Key.
