Fantastic Four
Even though Fantastic
Four was not the comic book film that everybody had hoped,
the film's performance in the box-office still had 20th Century Fox thinking
sequel. And, with this latest confirmation from the cast of Fantastic
Four, we could expect filming to begin as soon as next year.
More Fantastic Four
In an interview with EmpireOnline,
Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis and Jessica Alba discussed what made Fantastic
Four cool and finished by updating the magazine on the status of possible
sequels. Here is a little of what they had to say:
The one thing that was on everybody's lips – especially given the extraordinary performance at the box office, was sequels. And if Gruffudd's words are a indication, it's all looking very good: "We've signed for two and three already, and it looks more than likely that we'll be shooting them even as early as next year."
"The good thing is it won't be an origin picture," said Chiklis, "So we can go right into storytelling, and depending on which villain we decide to go with, and which way we decide to go, we can get right into the crux of the story immediately." Meanwhile, Ms Alba had her mind on more matters maternal "Tim put secrets in this movie that he's going to reveal in the next one, and I think we have to get the Fantasticar – that'd be cool… and I think we need some kids, at least by the third one, so Reed and Sue should get busy!"
I wouldn't blame the sub-par quality of Fantastic
Four on the fact that it was the first film in the series. Most of
the time it is the original film that does so well, as it introduces moviegoers
to a new world and characters they are suppose to like [or hate]. The number
one problem with Fantastic Four was rather that when it was not
being silly for the kids, the film was rushing through critical scenes.
Having a new director for the Fantastic Four sequels could be a
start, changing out Tim Story could be a simple solution. Or you could just
throw in more shots of Jessica Alba in her underwear... your pick.
