In one of our last reports on the San Diego
Comic - Con convention I discussed footage shown for Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire and V
for Vendetta. In both reports it was stated that the feature
trailers previewed were both unfinished, but V for Vendetta was
definitely closer to completion [the trailer]. I guess it must have been
real close because Warner Bros has just posted the first trailer for V
for Vendetta online.
V for Vendetta Trailer
Even though complaints have already surfaced that
V for Vendetta is based a little too 'loose' on the graphic novel
by Alan Moore, the movie trailer still looks cool as ever. The cinematography
laid down by the Wachowski brothers [Matrix Trilogy] looks very
clean with its stylized impression of a totalitarian future. If you have
never read nor heard of V for Vendetta, check out this synopsis:
Based on the graphic novel 'V for Vendetta' by Alan Moore. The story begins with a change of history, stating that the Germans had won World War II. England is devistated, leaving totalitarian rule over the country. The only hope remains in a mysterious group run by a man who wears a white porcelain mask.
V for Vendetta
Another nice little element to the trailer to point
out is that it starts out with the music by Klaus Badelt used on both Equilibrium
[originally] and then on Pirates of the Caribbean. The music was
so fitting that I would not be disappointed in the slightest if they decided
to use it again for V for Vendetta. To watch the hi-res version of the V
for Vendetta trailer, click on the images above. For the med-res version,
