Walk the Line
Walk
the Line is a biopic about Johnny Cash that will star
Joaquin Phoenix as the legendary country icon and focus on the singer's
early career in Memphis, including his struggles with drug addiction. Reese
Witherspoon is set to star as his wife and bandmate, June Carter Cash.
While I do admit that I am not all that excited about biopic films about
music legends, I still admire how well Joaquin Phoenix pulls off the look
and style of Johnny Cash. And, having listened to Cash through out college
thanks to a roommate, I do appreciate this attempt to finally bring attention
to this country rock and roller.
Walk the Line Trailer
Other than Johnny Cash, the Walk the Line
movie trailer also shows a lot of Reese Witherspoon who, with a sigh of
relief, is not playing the usual I'm - a - dumb - blonde role. I am actually
very impressed on how she plays the role of June Carter Cash as she meets
and soon becomes his soul mate [it has been said that Johnny Cash did die
of a broken heart].
Will I see Walk the Line opening weekend? Probably not. But, considering
that it was Bubba who alerted me to the existence of the film in the first
place, I am sure we can expect a review from him right away [the guy loves
music].
