As reported yesterday,
Russell and Ridley Scott may be teaming up again in Scotts next directorial
project currently titled A Good Year. Well, we all need not wonder
any longer because the duo is official.
Elizabeth Gabler and Rodney Ferrell are overseeing the project for Fox 2000, and Ridley Scott is producing the film through his Scott Free Productions.
The result of this duos last collaboration was the Oscar award winning film
Gladiator. Actually the film won five Academy awards including
best actor (Russell Crowe), best costume design (Janty Yates), best picture,
best sound (Scott Millon, Bob Beeker and Ken Weston) and best visual effects
(John Nelson, Neil Corbould, Tim Burke and Rob Harvey). Ridley Scott received
and Academy award nomination for the project.
A Good Year follows a London banker to
France as he has inherited a vineyard from his uncle after loosing his job.
Upon arriving to the vineyard he meets an American woman who claims she
owns the acreage. The American woman turns out to be a distant cousin.
The film was adapted from a Peter Mayle novel by Marc Klein and rewritten by Ted Griffin, Jess Butterworth and Tom Butterworth.
