My Date with Drew
After ComingSoon
posted the new link for an extended clip [ten whopping minutes] to the comedic
documentary My Date with Drew [more like a real life version of
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton], I had to figure out what this award
winning film was all about. Well, most of our avid readers know I have dirty
thoughts on Jessica Alba all the time, so lets assume that I happened to
win $1100 on a game show and decided to spend the entire amount on filming
a documentary on my nimble attempts to get the attention of Jessica Alba,
and further convince her to go out with me.
Sound crazy?
Brian Herzlinger did do exactly this but instead of Jessica Alba, he opted
for Drew Barrymore. Not that I am against his choice of female star or anything,
but I would have only chose Barrymore if she looked as she did in Bad
Girls [smoking hot in a cowboy hat!]. While Brian Herzlinger is your
average 'nobody', he does have a bunch of nice, or should I say famous,
connections throughout Hollywood. According to him, living in Hollywood
means you are going to befriend a actor / star or two. I guess I need to
start updating my rolodex.
My Date with Drew Clips and Trailers
The trailer for My Date with Drew is curiously
humorous and reminds me of something my friends would do as a spoof to get
close to somebody big. Scenes from the trailer include Brian talking to
some of his friends who happen to be famous and his parents, who wonder
if he will compromise and take a try at another female star. Everything
about the film, and Brian, seems like great fun and something you should
definitely want to check out in the theatres if you feel like smiling for
a couple of hours.

My Date with Drew has been getting great
reviews and has received a few rewards from various film festivals. As a
treat, MovieFone has recently posted an extended 10-minute clip for the
documentary that should give you a definite taste of what to expect before
heading off to theatres.
