Steve Carell is The 40 Year Old Virgin
Back when I did my review of Wedding
Crashers I had mentioned that not only could this Vince
Vaughn / Owen Wilson film be the comedy of the summer, but comedy of the
year. While I still feel the film has a chance, it is about to face some
stiff competition with Steve Carell's upcoming film The
40 Year Old Virgin. While I first didn't think too much
about the film, I then heard some early reviews and watched the international
trailer that featured everything from nipples to raunchy dialogue. It is
this type of stuff that is earning The 40 Year Old Virgin the title
of 'the real R comedy of the summer.'
40 Year Old Virgin Review
The good people over at AICN
have recently received an extremely positive review for The 40 Year
Old Virgin that screams 'funny'. Considering that the film stars he's
- so - hot - right - now Steve Carell, we should expect greatness. Check
out a snippet from the review below:
Let’s face it, WEDDING CRASHERS is a
PG-13 movie with a few swear words and some gratuitous nudity. For those
of you who felt the same way…have no fear. The R-rated comedy is back
in full force with THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN.
The laugh a minute ratio on this movie is incredible.
Mind you, it was a rough cut and ran almost two hours. However, there is
enough material to turn this into a great 100 or so minute movie. Hopefully
the editors will take out the one or two flat scenes I caught and tighten
up a few loose edges. I seriously hope so because there is a classic laugh
fest here just waiting to emerge. Rarely did a joke fall flat. It is R-rated
and it is a hard R. The language is relentless and the subject matter is
taken to the absolute limit. However this isn’t a gross out comedy,
just a raunchy one.
