Here is just a brief update for all of us who thought
that they'd have a Batman sequel in production by now. Even though
the entire cast and crew were talking multiple sequels back before the release
of Batman Begins [even Batman v Superman], it seems like
we have to beg to get any information on just one. Luckily, Sci-Fi Wire
caught up with producer Charles Roven and got him to spill a few details
on the Batman Begins
sequel.
Roven Talks Batman Sequel
Sci-Fi
Wire caught up to Charles Roven while he was promoting the upcoming
film The Brothers
Grimm. One of the major rumors Roven crushes is the one
about The 40 Year
Old Virgin's Steve Carell playing the next villainous
role of Joker. Sorry Steve, but it looks like that was only a rumor. Charles
Roven than promises that a Batman Begins sequel is in the works
and the only real hold up right now is the thumbs - up from Christopher
Nolan [director].
But Roven added that it's too early to talk about new cast members. He discounted rumors that The Daily Show's Steve Carrell is up for the role of the Joker. Roven is working with Carrell on the big-screen version of the TV spy comedy series Get Smart and said it's way too early to talk about new cast members for the as-yet-untitled next Batman film.
Roven said that it would be possible to proceed with another Batman movie without Nolan, but added that he would prefer Nolan to do another one.

sequel, head over to Sci-Fi
