It seems that it has been some time since our last
production diary from the set of Superman
Returns. Luckily, some bystander with a video camera was
able to keep us in touch with the current happenings on the set of Superman
Returns, as we watch a scene being practiced that features Brandon
Routh [aka Superman] dropping a Ford Mustang.
Superman Returns Set Footage
The good people over at SupermanHomepage
have recently posted two separate AVI files that show Bryan Singer working
with Brandon Routh on how to convincingly lower a vehicle from above his
head. The effect looks pretty cool, with two sets of ropes working in unison
to make sure that the car comes down in a believable fashion. This is definitely
one of the simpler scenes in the film where Superman just shows how strong
he is by lifting a car [showoff].
Even though each clip is fairly quick, it is cool
to see the level of involvement Bryan Singer has while he mimics how to
put down the Ford Mustang. I still wish the guy was able to find time for
X3.
