Superman comic snippet.
After posting that we had received word that new
set footage had been posted online for the upcoming Bryan Singer film Superman
Returns, it had been mentioned that we have been absent
a production diary, aka Speeding Bulletin, for a very long time. Therefore,
it is nice to hear the BlueTights.Net is still in action to create the latest
[21st] production diary-- 'In Graphic Detail'.
Superman Returns Video Diary
It's clips like this latest one for Superman
Returns which makes me think that all highly anticipated films should
feature some type of video blog website. Though they are meant to keep moviegoers
up to date on the current developments and happenings for their most favorite
upcoming films, the clips also teach us the hard work that goes into even
the smallest details of making a film. 'In Graphic Detail', for instance,
introduces us to the graphic designers that must create every logo, sign,
banner, and any other 'graphic' that must be used on set of Superman
Returns.
What this means is that food containers, cop emblems,
city signs, city maps and even restroom signs must be customly created by
a graphic artist. One of the artists even says that he does touch - ups
on Kevin Spacey's bald head. Whether the person does this for the actual
film or promotional material was not stated, but it is still pretty cool
just the same. This clip and the one about the people who sketch the scenes
are some of the coolest introductions about what all goes into film.
