It is the middle of August now and we still haven't
had any confirmation on who the real Spider-Man
3 villains will be. Sure, we know who will be playing
them [Thomas Hayden Church and Topher Grace], but that doesn't say anything
anymore. Having once thought that we'd have confirmation of the villains
by end of July [latest], I guess we will just continue with the Spider-Man
3 villain rumors.
Who are the Next Spider-Man Villains?
There are enough Spider-Man 3 'villain
rumors' out there to make your head spin. By now, just about every possible
villain has been suggested save a few. However, the latest rumor actually
works more to discredit the last rumor we heard about Spider-Man 3. If you
don't want to hear the last rumor, skip the below paragraph and keep reading
after the advertisement; as it does contain SPOILERS.
The last rumor that can floating our way, one I wish I hadn't read, stated
that Thomas Hayden Church and Topher Grace would both be playing the part
of Chameleon. Church would represent the character in his natural form while
Topher Grace will be a shape the Chameleon takes in order to get close to
Mary Jane. A damn cool idea with a twist that should blow away moviegoers
that did NOT just read this paragraph. However, this rumor has some problems
of its own.
In the latest report from AICN,
they claim that Topher Grace and Thomas Hayden Church will be playing two
separate villains. Their reasoning is simple... Why the heck would the casting
of Topher Grace be announced with the fact that he will be playing the role
of a villain? If he was to play the role mentioned above, there would be
no way to pull off a twist at the end, as the entire movie community already
knows that he must be a bad guy, aka villain. There last big complaint was
how could Sam Raimi follow up Doc Ock with only the Chameleon?
According to their own sources, AICN claims that the two villains will be
Sandman and Electro; but do admit that nobody can be for sure with Sam Raimi
at the helm.
