Lord of War
Every since watching the extremely cool teaser trailer
for the upcoming film featuring Nicolas Cage, Lord
of War, I have begun to crave more and more the month
of September. With a good number of highly anticipated films coming our
way for that month, it looks as if Lord of War is one of the top
contenders. Well, at least according to this early movie review posted online.
Lord of War Review
Capone, one of the many good people over at AICN,
has recently had the privaledge of checking out an early screening of Lord
of War and has a lot of wonderful things to say about it.
Hey, everyone. Capone in Chicago here. Up until about two weeks ago, when I first saw the stunning poster for LORD OF WAR, I had no idea the film even existed. There are probably some reasons for that, none of which have to do with how good the film is. My guess is that screaming, crying, and perhaps a bit of laughter in disbelief at the things detailed in this movie will not be uncommon at showing of this movie. And it’s a film I’ll be talking and thinking about long after its scheduled release date of September 16.
This might be an appropriate time to mention that LORD OF WAR plays like a very dark comedy. I found myself laughing far more than I figured I would, sometimes just at the sheer genius of Orlov’s schemes and sometimes at the punch-in-the-gut revelations about the warring world that Niccol’s unveils.
Yes, it is hard to decipher what 'Capone' thought
about Lord of War just from the snippets above. So, do yourself a favor
and head over to AintitCool.
The element that sold me on Lord of War was the extremely cool
way Lions Gate Films showed the cast credits in the trailer [shot out decals].
Lord of War comes to theatres on September 16th.
