The Constant Gardener
After receiving multiple emails claiming that The
Constant Gardener is a wonderful film and something that will be going
into its release this week underrated and under-hyped, I figured it would
be helpful to show at least one early review that gives you a sense of what
Constant Gardener Review
After watching the trailer for The Constant
Gardener I wasn't especially blown away by the film, but it does seem
that the film is a definite box office contender... as long as people actually
decide to see the film. Starring Ralph Fiennes [will play Voldemort in Goblet
of Fire] and Rachel Weisz, The Constant Gardener is about
a British diplomat who sets out to Kenya in order to solve the mystery about
her murder. Along the way we have a couple steamy flashbacks including one
featuring nakedness between Fiennes and Weisz.
Quint over at AICN
was able to catch an early viewing of The Constant Gardener and
had this to say about the film:
Here is a film that is stylish and heartbreaking that is brilliantly directed, tells a great story with some fantastic actors at the top of their games. It's an easy contender for best picture, director, actor, actress as well as the technical awards. And if it won it'd deserve every ounce of plated gold it got.
It's a masterfully told story and one that surprisingly didn't rip my heart out and leave me devastated in the theater. Rather, that heartbreaking grew the more I thought about the film and how they pulled the rug out from under me as an audience member. They really got me good, making me feel guilty about judging certain characters without knowing much about them.
Wow, that is a lot of big claims packed into only two paragraphs of a full
review of The Constant Gardener over at AintitCool.
One of the best things The Constant Gardener has going for it,
besides great reviews, is its wide release on August 31st. With only one
new film [A Sound of Thunder] coming out on this date, it could
be enough to let the positive word of mouth begin.
