The Exorcism of Emily Rose movie poster.
Not being the biggest fan of horror films, I
didn't immediately send attention over to the upcoming film The
Exorcism of Emily Rose. However, I may be willing to exorcise
the demons after watching this film's badass trailer and troubling clips.
Exorcism of Emily Rose Clips and Trailer
In an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church
officially recognized the demonic possession of a 19 year-old college freshman.
Told in flashbacks, The Exorcism of Emily Rose chronicles the haunting
trial of the priest accused of negligence resulting in the death of the
young girl believed to be possessed and the laywer who takes on the task
of defending him.
The film is a fictionalized account of Anneliese Michel, a German college
student who died during an exorcism. Her parents and the priests who carried
out the exorcism were later convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to six
months in prison. The fact that the story does have a non-fiction base should
add to the film's popularity in the theatres. The Exorcism of Emily
Rose also features an impressive story structure that should put it
high above your average horror film.
