One man's loss is another man's gain; at least
when it comes to the casting of the sequel to the comedy hit Bruce Almighty.
With Jim Carrey on the outs, who better to take the lead role than anchorman
Steve Carell?
Evan Almighty has Carell
I guess the studio execs have figured that Carell
has done enough and finally proven himself to be a worthy lead man in The
40 Year-Old Virgin. According to the good people over
at MovieHole,
with the loss of Jim Carrey the title to the sequel will be Evan Almighty,
with Steve Carell set to star.
Steve Carell, currently putting cheeks on seats with "The 40 year-old Virgin", has inked a deal to take over for the abovementioned Carrey in a sequel to "Bruce Almighty".
One man's loss - actually, Carrey passed - is another man's gain it seems, with Carrel's news-anchor character from the first film promoted to lead, this time 'round.
In "Evan Almighty", the news anchor character Carell played will go on an Almighty-inspired quest to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.
Morgan Freeman is also in talks about returning
as God for Evan Almighty. To check out the entire report, head
