Gives you an idea of the scale used for The Corpse Bride.
Now that Tim Burton's first film of 2005, Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory, is not a top contender at the
box office any more, it is time to leave the colorful land of Wonka and
head straight to Burton's darker topic in The
Corpse Bride. Featuring Burton's classic look at death
and darkness, The Corpse Bride also brings in another terrifying
subject-- marriage. Oooaaahhh.
The Corpse Bride Movie Stills
The final countdown for The Corpse Bride
is about to begin with the film heading to theatres on September 16th. Not
only is this the second film from Tim Burton in 2005, something he has mentioned
to regret, but is also the second time he has paired up with Johnny Depp
this year as well. 2005 was just another step that has further helped to
make these two gentlemen B-F-F.
Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion, animated feature
follows the story of Victor [Depp], a young man who is whisked away to the
underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride [Bonham-Carter], while his
real bride, Victoria [Watson], waits bereft in the land of the living. Though
life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict
Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world,
or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It’s a
tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in classic Tim
Burton style.
A lively party.
