While watching X-Men 2: X-Men United there
is a quick scene where we actually catch a glimpse of Remy 'Gambit' LeBeau's
name among a list of known mutants. Was this a hint that we could expect
the famous character in X-Men
3? Well, according to the latest report, we should count
the guy out; even though this character is long overdue.
No to Gambit
According to theXverse,
Gambit will not be making an appearance in the upcoming film X-Men 3.
This may come as a shock to some considering how many new characters are
being added for this latest X-Men installment under Brett Ratner.
Check out a snippet of the report below:
Today, Ralph Winter (one of the film's
producers) confirmed to The Xverse that there is no appearance by Gambit
in X-Men 3 -- but that it might be included in "the next one".
This indicates that despite any possible plans to end the series with a
trilogy, people involved with production are open to future X-sequels.
One of the other issues this interview brings up is whether or not there
will be more X-Men films after X3. It was initially reported
by 20th Century and Halle Berry that this upcoming film would be the last,
therefore completing the trilogy. However, after all the commotion over
our latest X-Men scoops, we had received multiple reports that the crew
over at 20th Century Fox are still game for additional films. However, let's
just hope that these films are up to the level created by Bryan Singer instead
of running the franchise into the grown.
On a final note-- If they ever do decide they want to have Gambit in the
films, a good first choice could be Harry Connick Jr.
X-Men 3 comes to theaters on May 5th, 2006.
