Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
Kiss
Kiss, Bang Bang has continued to grow on me ever since
the trailer. There is nothing better than a comeback film for not one but
two actors that features easy laughs and just a damn good time. Thanks to
the Toronto Film Festival, we have received a first report for Kiss
Kiss, Bang Bang that gushes fun times.
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang Review
Madmartigan - slash - Iceman strikes again in a
film that couldn't be farther from Kilmer's standard genre. Playing the
role of gay detective, it is Kilmer's responsibilty to train Robert Downey
Jr.'s character for his upcoming acting role. However, what happens when
real-life drama and death get mixed into the fiction? Thanks to the good
people over at AICN,
there is now the first report for Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang that relishes
the film. To be honest, this is wonderful news considering the release date
for the film has recently been pushed back from its September 16th slot.
A love letter to hard-boiled, two-fisted detective stories, Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang is a great comeback for one of the men who arguably defined Hollywood in the '80s, and a damn fun film even if you don't know who Shane Black is.
Downey Jr. and Kilmer are both hysterical here, and have a chemistry that smacks more of Lewis and Martin than anything, with Downey as the motormouth and Kilmer as the suave one. Michelle Monaghan matches them pretty much quip for quip too as The Girl, the three of them making Black's dialogue crackle.
There haven't been too many real popcorn movies this year, films that had no goal other pure entertainment. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang will rectify that lack the moment it hits theaters.
Though Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang will be gracing
us with its presence a little bit later this year, you can still warm up
to the film with a great trailer and international poster.
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang had its release date pushed back to October
21st.
