It turns out that Joss Whedon has a lot on his
mind while running around doing final promotions for his upcoming film Serenity.
What does Whedon think of his directorial debut and what does he consider
life after Serenity?
Goblet of Fire Updates
The good people over at MovieHole
were able to catch up with Joss Whedon and discuss more than a few subjects
with him. They opened up by discussing Serenity and the difficulties encountered
when trying to adapt the short-lived series to film. My favorite part of
this section came when they discussed the characters, especially Nathon
Fillion. I have enjoyed watching this guy on the television set ever since
his appearance in Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place. I remember
when he played the cameo role of Private James Frederick Ryan in Spielberg's
Saving Private Ryan. Remember the guy that cried like a baby when
he thought his brother was killed?
Anywho, Whedon believes that Nathon Fillion could be the next on-screen
hero, something I can't possibly argue with. How about teaming Fillion up
with Brendan Fraser, these two guys look and act like they could be brothers.
Joss Whedon finishes the conversation by dropping a hint mentioning that his next quick project may be a telemovie.
It’s rumoured that Whedon’s looking to bring the character of Spike (played by James Marsters on Buffy and Angel) back for a telemovie, and he’s happy to validate that. “I’m talking in reference to that…..and possibly more”, he smiles. “I can only teasingly hint unfortunately until it’s got backing and we’ve got a schedule and a contract. I have been talking to some of the actors, writers, and some executives and are trying to put something together - - but it’s not happening fast. [But no] I haven’t left the Buffyverse behind”.
