Ioan Gruffudd on Amazing Grace
According to thehollywoodreporter,
Ioan Gruffudd has signed on to topline Walden Media's Amazing Grace
with director Michael Apted set to helm. Ioan Gruffodd has joined the cast
of Grace with Albert Finney. Based on the life of British anti-slavery
pioneer William Wilberforce (Gruffudd), Amazing Grace follows his
18th century political career, which placed him at odds with some of the
most powerful men of the time, including the king. Finney will play John
Newton, a Wilberforce confidant. Steven Knight [Dirty Pretty Things]
penned the screenplay.
Ioan Gruffudd was last scene as Mr Fantastic in
the comic book adaptation Fantastic
Four. Gruffudd is currently filming The TV Set, a story
of a TV pilot as it goes through the Network TV process of casting, production
and finally airing.
