Roll Bounce Bow Wow style!
After watching the trailer for Roll
Bounce I do admit that the film looked like it could display
a good deal of entertainment with its light attitude and choreography of
super - roller - skaters. However, don't think that I was snapping my fingers
above my head just yet. Roll Bounce also looked like one of those films
that you go see and then walk out of the theatre thinking 'how lame' or
'so cheesy.'
Well, it looks like my first opinion of the film may have been closer to
the mark, as this first review of Roll Bounce is gushing.
Roll Bounce Reviewed
According to the good people over at AICN,
Roll Bounce may be the surprise hit of, well, a surprise hit in
general. Though this film starring Bow Wow [what happened to 'little'?]
looks a little cheeky, it supposedly pulls through when it comes to max
entertainment. What the?
Now, knowing that I’m in good company, I’m just gonna let it all hang out right now. I. Fucking. Love. Roll Bounce. Love it. It sent me out of the theatre with such a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my belly that words cannot express the sheer joy I felt watching this movie. And I know I shouldn’t feel this way. Hell, I shouldn’t even be admitting it - knowing that doing so will probably nullify every review I ever write again. But I’ve got to do it. I love it that much.
Ultimately, few people are going to walk out talking about the brilliance of Roll Bounce. Only a few more will call it very good at all. But quite a few people are going to love it nonetheless. Roll Bounce is the very definition of a guilty pleasure – one I plan on enjoying time and time again. And despite the fact that critics nationwide are bound to trash this thing and its name may become synonymous with films like Glitter and Gigli, I’m going to defend my love for it with my dying breath.
Now I got to figure out how to enter a theatre
for Roll Bounce gracefully. Probably kidnap a couple of little
kids and act like I was 'forced' to see this film. Yeah, that will work.
