Dungeon Siege
It looks like adapting popular video games may
be the way to go for the next couple of years. Even though Resident
Evil was 'ehh' and Doom
has yet to hit theatres, film execs are already beginning to throw bundles
of cash for upcoming films such as Halo and now Dungeon Siege.

A film adaptation of Halo should have been expected
thanks to the extreme popularity of both Halo and Halo 2.
However, the announcement of an adaptation of Dungeon Siege did
little to impress up until I heard that this film just may have high production
value and none other than the great Jason Statham. If you have never played
Dungeon Siege, you can check out the first intro-synopsis for the
film below:
Based on the popular video game of the same
name. Dungeon Siege is a rare entertainment experience. We love
the times of knights and Kings because it is a time of great courage and
noble causes-- of perhaps even a little magic. Certainly, it is a time of
adventure.
Dungeon Siege follows the hard life of a lowly farmer [Jason Statham]
to a mighty mission to save his wife and child. An unspeakably evil army
is rampaging across the land, destroying everything in its path and focusing
on even conquering the mighty Castle Ehb, and vanquishing the King himself.
This evil army threatens an otherwise ideal world of peace.

Four Krugs emerge suddenly from the ground to surround the Farmer.
Jason Statham is 'the Farmer'.
This is a passionate epic adventure with vividly drawn characters, a solid heart at its core and story line that reveals more information and adventure with each passing minute. There is not a slow moment in this movie, with nearly instant action from the very start.
Dungeon Siege will take its place among the few mighty adventures
that make going to the movies a fantastic escape, -- a much needed inspiration
to our normal lives. Like Lord of the Rings brought us to another
world and time. Dungeon Siege lifts our hearts, our minds, and
yes, even our spirit. It makes one believe in the nobility of royalty, the
true power of magic, and at its center, the devotion of a farmer who must
summon more courage and fortitude than one would think possible.
Besides Jason Statham, Dungeon Siege does
boast a pretty impressive cast that includes Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys
Davies [Lord of the Rings], Ron Perlman, Burt Reynolds, Kristanna
Loken [hottie!], Matthew Lillard and Will Sanderson. To be honest, the only
person that worries me in the entire crew is the director- Uwe Boll. As
most know, this guy doesn't have the best record with movies.

official site.
I love the picture of Jason Statham as 'the farmer,' and hope that he still
retains his ability to pick out good films [large
version here]. Dungeon Siege will most definitely
be one of those hit or miss films.
