Little is known about the past of Arkady Rossovich except that he was
a serial killer. He was captured by the Interpol agent Banshee and turned
over to the KGB, which wanted to created a super soldier similar to Captain
America. Omega Red is the end result.
The last time we posted our own scoop on X-Men
3 we got such a mix of emails [some joyful, some hateful]
that we decided to give the X-Men 3 rumors a rest for a bit. However,
how can we deny scoops posted by other sites? If you want to get mad, get
mad at them.
Actually, this latest scoop should be nothing to get mad about, unless of course you are sick and tired of hearing about more mutants joining
the roster. With so many mutants, how can there possibly be time for character development?
X-Men 3 Gets Omega Red and GaunTlet
X-Men 3 is beginning to worry me in the
same way as Spider-Man
3. Both these films have predecessors that were excellent
because of the emphasis on character. Hence, the X-Men films stuck
to a smaller band of popular X-Men [there were still complaints though]
and the Spider-Man films only allowed the development of a single
villain. First there are reports that have us assume that Spider-Man
3 will have three villains, making me wonder how could we possibly
give each one the proper character development.
Now it seems like Brett Ratner is adding mutants like they are going out
of style, again making me wonder if there will be sufficient character development.
Ok, that is only my negative opinion to the latest
addition of Omega Red and Gauntlet to the X-Men 3 mutant roster.
One of the nice things about adding mutants to the film is it will allow
the fans of those mutants a chance to finally see them come to life. Let's
just remember that characters are important and that most of these guys
may get nothing more than a background cameo.
Here is a snippet from X-Men
Films, who were the ones to scoop Omega Red and Gaunlet.
OMEGA RED and GAUNTLET will be featured briefly
in the film, in a scene that resembles the X-Men Evolution episode
where the same two characters are chasing after the character, X23. Only
this time... it’ll be Wolverine.
If you are a big fan of either of these two characters, congratulations. If not, at the rate Ratner is going he is bound to pick somebody you're
fond of. X-Men 3 will come to theaters with an array of mutants on May 26, 2006.
