Wedding Crashers DVD Wedding Crashers comes to DVD.
When I entered the theater to watch the summer comedy Wedding Crashers I had no idea what to expect. However, I did have my hopes, as I knew that Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were due a hit. Luckily, this film had me laughing my ass off from beginning to end with its surprisingly romantic humor (read review). It then became apparent that I was not alone with my appreciation of the film with its box office numbers breaking the $200M mark and climbing. Somewhere the New Line Cinema execs were running around going 'Ka-Ching!'

The best part is, especially for New Line Cinema, is that comedies such as this also perform beautifully when it comes to DVD sales, so these same movie execs are already preparing... and going 'Ka-ching!'

Wedding Crashers DVD

According to New Line Cinema, we can expect the release of Wedding Crashers to DVD on January 3rd. As of right now, I do admit that I am a little confused with this marketing decision on why they couldn't push the release of the DVD forward just a couple of weeks to capture the holiday rush. I guess this DVD will make a better Easter gift. But what version to buy?

According to DVDAnswers, there will be two different versions released for Wedding Crashers; rated and unrated. Each version will carry an anamorphic widescreen presentation, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo Surround tracks.

Extras on the rated edition will include an audio commentary from stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, a second commentary from director David Dobkin, deleted scenes, a Crash Course in Wedding Crashing featurette, an Event Planning featurette, a music video (The Sights' "Circus"), an interactive soundtrack promo, trailers, and a Wedding Crashing game. The 'Uncorked' edition will include all of that, along with an extra nine minutes of footage, the infamous "99 Red Balloons" scene, and test audience reaction to specific scenes.

Stay tuned for updates.
