Venom That is three votes for Venom in two weeks.
This report will make it a total of three reports in the last couple of weeks that has claimed that Venom and Sandman will be definite villains for Spider-Man 3. The whole issue began with a scoop that claimed the three villains were Venom, Sandman and Hobgoblin. Since then we have heard from two reliable sources that have accidentally confirmed both Venom and Sandman. I am guessing Hobgoblin is laying low on the reports as Franco will slowly turn into the villain by the end of Spider-Man 3 and not be able to make an honorable entrance until Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man 3 Villains

I don't know if Kirsten Dunst had a couple cocktails too many or if she was told to do this by Sam Raimi and company, but during an interview with Zap2It she completely lets two of the villains for Spider-Man 3 slip right out of her mouth. After doing so she mentions that maybe she shouldn't have said anything, which makes me wonder if the Sam Raimi crew are just trying to plant rumors.

"We have really great people though as the villains in this film, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace -- Venom and Sandman," says Kirsten Dunst while promoting her film "Elizabethtown."

"Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that," she says, checking with her rep, who assures her the information has already been released.

The "Interview with a Vampire" actress is a little shaky on the information at first, saying that Church would play Venom and Grace would take on Sandman, before reversing her claim when a journalist expresses disbelief. "It's the other way around. You're right," she concedes.

Dunst can be forgiven since she has yet to receive a script for the film that will begin shooting in January.

A while back we posted a scoop running around the net that claimed that both Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church were playing the same villain in different forms-- Chameleon. I am sure that this would have been a nice twist for Spider-Man 3 if the scoop hadn't got leaked to the net, so maybe Sam Raimi is now trying to throw us off again. Or, maybe Kirsten Dunst just let this one slip.

For the entire report on the Spider-Man 3 villains, go to Zap2it.

Spider-Man 3 comes to theatres on May 4th, 2007.
