Paul Walker in Running Scared
There is something about Paul Walker and teenie-bopper
films. Any time his name appears on a cast sheet, you know that the upcoming
film is most likely Fast and the Furious-ish. However, the upcoming
film Running Scared
might be a pleasent change for Paul Walker, but I still have some issues.
Paul Walker is Running Scared
Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious)
stars in the fast-paced crime drama Running Scared from critically
acclaimed director Wayne Kramer (The Cooler). Walker plays a low-level
mobster who, in order to save his family, must recover a gun used in a mob
hit before it's found by his bosses or the cops. Co-starring Chazz Palminteri
(The Usual Suspects), Running Scared could just be the
thriller to kick off the New Year. However, when would I ever put faith
in Paul Walker?
That being said, I do have to admit that Paul Walker does actually look
like he is playing a role instead of just walking through a film. The only
issue I had with his role in the Running Scared trailer is that
in some scenes Paul Walker has an accent and in others he doesn't? Is this
like Kevin Costner in Robin Hood when he would turn his accent
on and off at will? For the sake of the film and my dropping feelings toward
Walker, I hope this isn't the case.
