I was just in the theatre today and was reminded
of Jarhead
by how cool the trailer looks. With a formula that looks somewhat Three
Kings, Jarhead could be one of those ultra-cool present day
war films. Either that or the film is going to piss a lot of people off.
Jarhead Movie Stills
The good people over at BlackFilm
have gotten a hold of the second dose of movie stills to be released for
Jarhead. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jarhead is based off of the
novel written by Anthony "Swoff" Swofford, a third-generation
enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a
sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East
deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always
potentially just over the next horizon.
As you may be able to tell from the trailer, "Swoff" was not entirely
pleased with his stay in Desert Storm; he thought it was "sucky".
