This morning as I was driving to work, I heard
an interview on the radio (105.1 Triple M) with Steve Carell about his new
movie The 40 Year
Old Virgin. During the interview, he was asked if there
as any truth to the rumor that he was going to be the next Maxwell Smart
in the new Get Smart movie.

"I am signed on for it, whenever they project gets underway…." Replied Carell.
So it would seem that we already have a new agent 86, after Don Adams passed away only 2 weeks ago! Where's the sympathy? Where's the time for the family to remorse? Carell might well have been slapped on the wrist by his publisher after the interview and if he wasn't, he damn well should have.
On a lighter note, Carell did state that the old favorites such as the shoe phone will be seen in the new film. Carell also said although he will be playing Maxwell Smart, he will not be doing a direct impersonation of Don Adam's.
