Of all the possible sequels available in the film
market I am hoping that this latest update isn't true. It seems that Rocky
V wasn't enough for good ol' Sylvester Stallone and he has now opted
to get started on Rocky VI soon. Can we please keep this once prizefighter
in his corner?
Rocky 6 For December
For me, the Rocky franchise ended at Rocky
IV. Somehow this boxer goes in and out of fame [and money] like he
is a dumb baboon. Toss in the fact that Rocky V didn't carry much
weight and I figured the film franchise done for good. But, being a boxer
with an incredibly strong jaw, Sylvester figures he has got at least one
last round to fight.
According to Production
Weekly, not only is Stallone planning on going forward with
a Rocky VI, but the filming schedule has already been figured with
the starting date coming much quicker than expected.
Sylvester Stallone, will direct and reprise
his role as Rocky Balboa, in the sixth installment of the boxing franchise.
"Rocky 6," is scheduled to begin filming early December in Los
Angeles. Lonely and at loose ends, retired boxer Rocky Balboa comes out
of retirement, intending to fight a few low-profile local fights just to
keep his hand in. But when he's approached to fight a match with reigning
heavyweight champ Mason "The Line" Dixon, Rocky's modest little
comeback becomes the center of a media firestorm.
Filming beginning in December! I guess MGM wants
to get this straight to video out for the holidays. Ok, I am joking. But
adding another sequel to this franchise will only be another stain on the
originality of the original film(s).
