It looks like 'batman sequel' is the phrase of
the day. According to the latest reports, buzz and scoops, it is quite possible
Chris Nolan has recently [as in today] signed with Warner Bros for the sequel
for Batman Begins.
And, though not originally expected, it looks like Nolan is holding all
the cards for this project.
Batman Sequel Updates
The first update to pop up came from a brief discussion
to appear over at TheHollywoodReporter
in a discussion between the site and production president of Warner Bros,
Jeff Robinov.
THR: How did you come to select Chris
Nolan to reinvent "Batman?"
Robinov: Chris Nolan wasn't the obvious choice. Alan trusted that Chris' vision -- the tone, the setting and his skill as director and storyteller -- would ultimately give us the best movie. Chris is going to come in and tell us what the next "Batman" will be today. It all comes down to filmmakers like Alfonso Cuaron on "Harry Potter," or Curtis Hanson on "Lucky You" or Niki Caro on "North Country."
Chris is going to come in and tell you what the
next Batman film is going to be? Talk about having some directorial power! Warner
Bros may have had some doubts in the beginning, but now it looks like Chris
Nolan is calling the shots.
Soon after that conversation above was posted,
the fansite BatmanOnFilm
had a quick follow-up from what they know to be a reliable source. If anything
is for certain, Chris Nolan is definitely behind the next Batman
sequel.
Bill, remember I told you several times that is was simply a matter of time before Nolan “officially” signs on for the sequel? Well, it certainly looks like it is headed that way rather quickly. If [Jeff] Robinov is telling ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that Nolan is coming in to tell them about the next BATMAN, he’s probably already signed on the dotted line. There has never been an question in Hollywood that Nolan wouldn’t be back.
As far as your latest update, I see that you didn’t totally vouch for that
source. But if I had to guess from afar, it sounds legit.
That is it for the latest updates on the sequel for Batman Begins, expect
a confirmation from either Warner Bros or Christopher Nolan shortly.
