Though I hate saying this as I still see M. Night
Shyamalan as one of the possible saviors of the movie industry with his
ultra-unique films, but his films seem to have been going on a downhill
slide. I loved Sixth Sense, greatly enjoyed Unbreakable,
appreciated Signs and grew confused by The Village. Now
that the movie-going public knows that Shyamalan is the great deceiver,
it seems that the director is now trying to hard to trick and, at the same
time, convince his audience. Hopefully his latest project, Lady in the
Water, will be the first step in his saving face.
Lady in the Water Talk
One of the cast for Lady in the Water,
Freddy Rodriguez, was able to throw a few words with IESB
and give a hint on the details behind his character. Now, I know this wouldn't
normally be any big deal, but M. Night Shyamalan guards the details to his
films like a hawk.
Q: Who do you play in that one [Lady
in the Water]? Can you talk?
FR: I play a guy named Reggie is all I can tell you
Q: That's it? (laughing)
FR: (getting a little hush hush) I play a guy...who as an experiment works out one side of his body only so half of my body is 4 ½ inches bigger than the other side
Q: How strange
FR: Yeah very strange
M. Night Shyamalan is known for 'unique' films
so I guess we should have figured that the first character slip for Lady
in the Water would be, well, strange.
