After repeatedly asking where the heck was the
King Kong
poster, something I feared wouldn't come till after the full trailer for
the film [this Friday], it looks like Universal has finally given their
answer.
King Kong Movie Poster
Even though Universal had already released a poster-looking
image over to Empire, they later retorted by stating that this
same image being passed around the net was nothing more than, well, an image.
I don't know how Universal was so surprised that people were anxiously looking
for an official poster, considering that the film is under two months away
and we haven't seen anything remotely close to the medium yet.
However, it now looks like Universal may have held off on an official poster
until they got the final look of Kong figured out. If you have been paying
attention to updates for King Kong, then you would have seen the
comparison report we ran this weekend that looked at images of the old version
of Kong and the new. Now looking at the image sent to Empire, it
displays the old version of Kong. The second version of Kong, featured in
this first official poster for the film, is a bit older looking with smaller
eyes, weathered skin and no tooth.

This poster for King Kong popped up over at the IMP
Awards, so head over their to check out the full-size version.
