One of the hardest working men in Hollywood, Joel
Silver, has been running around lately trying to do last minute promotions
for the dark buddy-comedy Kiss
Kiss, Bang Bang; a film that has sadly not popped up in
my area yet. Though the producer's main intentions is to discuss how great
Kiss is, it is hard not to drill the guy on two upcoming big-hitters
titled V for Vendetta
and Wonder Woman.
Vendetta and Wonder Talks
In a report from Zap2It,
they were able to catch up with Joel Silver and get him to say a few words
on both the Wachowski brothers with their upcoming film V for Vendetta,
adapted off of the graphic novel by Alan Moore, and Joss Whedon, who has
been able to get away from Serenity to begin working on Wonder Woman.
When it comes to both films, you can tell that Joel Silver is pretty amped
and has no doubts that each of the projects should perform beautifully at
the box office.
When discussing V for Vendetta, Silver had this to say:
"The movie is remarkable," Silver swears. "They [the Wachowskis] produced it with me. James directed it, he got great performances, but it's their vision. They designed the movie. It's a really incredible movie. People are really gonna be blown away by it. It's big."
"We finished the movie in August and the boys wanted to have the movie come out to coincide with Guy Fawkes Day, which a holiday in the U.K., which is a one-territory holiday and it was unbelievably oppressive to give the movie done in time for that day," Silver explains. "It just was impossible."
Though Wonder Woman is still a ways away,
Silver stills holds a few details for the project:
"Joss Whedon's writing the script and he's really into it," he notes. He's had his hands full with 'Serenity' and now it's out. He's into it. He thinks he can do something really great and when he has a script that we all like, we'll try to make the movie."
Of casting the famous Amazon, he adds, "She's young in the movie. I don't know if it's gonna be somebody that we've heard of, but it might be."
