A week or so ago we posted the long-awaited poster for the Peter Jackson film King Kong. However, it turns out that the poster was only a draft for the domestic Kong that has arrived today.

It looks like Universal is getting burned out on the block style font and have decided to completely remove all font but the release date. I guess they figured that a picture of a giant ape is well enough to convey that King Kong is a coming.

Below is the first draft that we have received last week and then the finalized draft received today. Which one do you like better?

This final Kong looks like a mix between the original Kong witnessed in the trailers and the newly drafted Kong shown above. All in all, things look good.

Other than the poster, AICN received a report about the upcoming full trailer for King Kong.

The trailer is nothing short of amazing and gives you just enough to make you wet your pants with glee and beg to watch it again. The scenes with Kong protecting Ms. Darrow from the T-Rex are beautiful! There is a quite impressive scene that has him throwing her through the air as the Rex lunges and then catching her again in the same hand. The trailer is pretty fast paced once Ms. Darrow is taken by Kong and doesn’t stop until Mr. Jackson gives us the ultimate money shot.

According to the report, expect to see the full trailer for King Kong with Jarhead on November 4th and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on November 18th.

King Kong comes to theatres on December 14th, 2005.
