Final Destination 3
I remember watching the original Final Destination
like it was only yesterday. Featuring a unique plot and plenty of gruesome
shocks and scares, the film not only successfully handed out the shivers
but also confirmed my fear of flying.
Upon success of this film New Line Cinema decided to do what all movie studios
like to do when they think they have found their next franchise-- create
a sequel. Final Destination 2, though featuring a very impressive
opening sequence, seemed to concentrate on awkward and troubling deaths
over any type of meaningful story. After finishing the sequel I assumed
that the franchise was over.
But that is not the case! New Line Cinema is striking back with a cool trailer
for what looks like your standard cheesy horror sequel.
Final Destination 3 Trailer
The trailer for Final Destination 3 offers
a cool intro that re-introduces us to the previous two films with a nice
segway into the opening roller coaster accident that will start off film
number three. Though it is obvious that the trailer does not show much,
there is enough there to tell what kind of formula James Wong [director]
is going for for FD3. Instead of the grotesque deaths that we witnessed
in FD2, Final Destination 3 looks like death is brought
on by the most awkward objects, ornaments and anything else that is sharp.
Ok, the deaths look grotesque here as well.
The fright-filled Final Destination franchise returns to theaters
in the supernatural thriller Cheating Death: Final Destination 3.
Set six years after the original Final Destination film, the latest
installment in the series centers around a high school senior who has a
premonition of a fatal roller coaster accident involving herself and all
her friends. When the premonition proves true, those who have "cheated
death" and survived the accident are forced to deal with the repercussions
of escaping their fate. Cheating Death: Final Destination 3 stars
Ryan Merriman (The Ring Two) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The film is directed
by James Wong (Final Destination).
