Wesley Snipes in Blade: Trinity
One of our favorite people, Clint Morris of Moviehole,
has recently contacted us to help dispel a rumor going around about Blade
star Wesley Snipes. The early buzz had claimed that Snipes was down to have
his kick-fighting butt hang out with Jean Claude Van Damme for The Hard
Corps. However, it looks like Snipes remembered that Van Damme hasn't
had a hit from the mid 90's.

on the latest rumor for Wesley Snipes:
Seems those rumours about Wesley Snipes joining Jean Claude Van Damme for “The Hard Corps” were premature – Blade’s not going to be teaming with Lionheart at all, it seems.
The film’s director, Sheldon Lettich, tells a forum (http://vandammefan.bravepages.com/forum/index.php) that “Wesley Snipes has NOT been cast in this movie; he has not even been approached about being in this movie.
"Here's the reasons why, as the producer explained to me: It would cost in the neighborhood of $10 million just to pay both their salaries. But there is no assurance that this movie would do twice the business if both stars were in it, because the demographic that sees a Van Damme movie is the same demographic that sees a Wesley Snipes movie. You don't necessarily get more bang for your buck, although the movie's budget would be nearly twice the norm. This is why you never saw Stallone and Schwarzenegger in the same movie, although that concept was hotly bandied about in the 80's and 90's.
"Personally I don't agree with this assessment, but then I'm not the one who's arranging the financing. As a movie fan, I'd love to see the two of them together in this movie. But as a director, I'd be very worried about a clash of egos on the set. That's another reason you never saw a movie with both Sly and Arnold, or both Sly and Bruce Willis, or JCVD and Steven Seagal, or Steven Seagal and Wesley Snipes. I could go on & on”.
