An American Haunting
Though I am not the biggest fan of horror films,
I do appreciate the rare films that come into the genre and know exactly
what they are. Moviegoers have become used to horror films that try to open
with a wonderful production value only to lose direction about halfway through
the film; with results making the film more humorous than scary.
One of the horror films to hide under the radar is An
American Haunting starring Donald Sutherland. This film
has no build up, twist or finale; just one pissed off ghost.
American Haunting Movie Trailer
The trailer for American Haunting is so
cool that I had to watch it a second time. The film offers no guesses towards
what is haunting the secluded cabin, but does more than enough to show that
whatever is haunting these people sure is pissed. People get yanked out
of bed, wrestled with, pull by the hair, thrown, hit and just about everything
else one dickhead of a ghost could do to you. Don't even get me started
on the furniture! What a dick!
Personally, if a ghost started acting like this in my house I would act
like a bitch and leave town... or play cruel jokes on my neighbors... tough
call. I got it! I would leave town and let my neighbors housesit. Bliss!
An American Haunting
Looks like some one used a little too much Visine.
Based on true events validated by the State of
Tennessee of the only case in US History where a spirit or entity caused
the death of a man. With over 20 books written on the subject, and a town
that still lives in fear of the return of the unseen spirit, the story of
"An American Haunting" is terrifying. Between the years 1818-1820, the Bell
Family of Red River, Tennessee was visited by an unknown presence which
haunted the family and eventually ended up causing the death of one its
members. Starting with small sounds around the farm, and the sighting of
a strange BLACK WOLF with piercing yellow eyes, the sounds escalated into
full brutal contact with the certain family members, causing psychological
and physical torment. The attacks grew in strength, with the spirit slapping,
pulling, dragging, and beating the Bell's youngest daughter.
