I know that most of us are probably still caught
up with the release of the full movie trailer for King
Kong, but this latest set of movie stills sent over to
us are just too cool to pass up.
King Kong Movie Stills
I purposely posted a few more stills featuring
Naomi Watts, as the latest trailer proves that she will most likely be offering
an amazing performance through out the film. Actually, I have noticed a
startling, but good, similarity between King Kong and Peter Jackson's
last films The Lord of the Rings. One of the best aspects of the
LOTR films was that Peter Jackson used camera angles, cinematography
and close-up shots to help the audience bond with the characters. I can't
even count how many times we found ourselves staring right into the tear-filled
eyes of Frodo [Elijah Wood]. And it worked! Moviegoers felt emotionally
tied to the characters.
Now, having learned just how well this camera technique works, Peter Jackson
has again applied the same cinematography to King Kong. Watch the
trailer again and look how many times the camera does close-up shots of
a characters face. And, if you want to go a step further, count how many
times a character has a strong expression on their face [shock, confusion,
tears, etc]. Peter Jackson loves his close-ups! Don't have time to watch
the trailer again? Check out the stills below:
